Strategic risk reduction within the NPT

This side-event proposed by France as part of the 10^th NPT Review Conference and organized by the Fondation pour la Recherche Stratégique (FRS) will develop the topic of Strategic Risk Reduction (SRR) considered by the NPT community to be a priority in the contemporary strategic environment. The question of its relevance in the context of the war in Ukraine will be at the heart of the debates.

The presentations will cover the history of the conceptual instrument, its scope, the question of its definition, its place in the P5 process since 2009, its operationalization and what can be expected of it in the course of the next five-year Treaty review cycle
