Professional experience
At the French Ministry for the Armed Forces, Dr. Nicolas Regaud was Senior Advisor for Climate to the Deputy Chief of the Defence Staff from 2022 to 2024. Previously, he was the Special representative to the Indo-Pacific of the Director general for international relations and strategy (2015-2020) and Assistant defense policy director in charge of strategic foresight and policy planning (2008-2014).
Starting in the early 1990s, he held various positions within the Directorate for strategic affairs of the Ministry for the Armed Forces, the Secretariat General for Defense and National Security attached to the Prime Minister’s Office, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (Policy Planning Staff) and the University Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne as a researcher.
Education
Nicolas Regaud obtained a PhD in political science (1990), a MA in international relations (1986), a MA in contemporary history (1985), all from Paris I Panthéon-Sorbonne University.
