FRS is pleased to invite you to a webinar entitled "Exploring the role of HCoC and other CBMs in the field of missiles", which will be held online on Wednesday, October 13, from 2:00 pm to 3:30 pm (CET), with the support of the European Union.

The Hague Code of Conduct (HCoC) is one of the few existing instruments aiming to prevent the proliferation of ballistic missiles. But while this objective is paramount, the Code also comprises a set of confidence-building measures (CBMs) dealing with ballistic missiles as well as space launches, to limit the risk of misinterpretation regarding these activities and therefore regulating these weapons.
These CBMs are noteworthy because of their multilateral framework. But they do not operate in a vacuum, and deepen, expand and complement other measures adopted in the past concerning missiles and other strategic issues.

This session will explore the linkages between the Code and other confidence-building measures, especially in the missile field. It will also touch upon the opportunities to strengthen the multilateral framework, and reflect about additional ways to bring transparency in the ballistic and space domains.
